Classic Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

A simple yet delicious Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes. Preparation time: 20 minutes

Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Parmesan cheese, grated (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced garlic and sauté until golden brown, about 2 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
3. Add red pepper flakes to the skillet and stir for about 30 seconds.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss to combine. If needed, add a little reserved pasta water to help coat the spaghetti.
5. Season with salt to taste and mix well.
6. Serve immediately, garnished with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
