Ingredients:

- 400g spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions:

1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden brown and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
3. Add the red pepper flakes and a pinch of salt to the skillet, stirring to combine.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to coat the pasta with the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add some reserved pasta water a little at a time until the desired consistency is reached.
5. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped parsley.
6. Serve immediately, garnished with additional parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
