Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until it turns golden brown, about 2 minutes.
3. Add the red pepper flakes and cook for another 30 seconds.
4. Toss the drained spaghetti into the skillet, adding a bit of the reserved pasta water to help combine. Mix well to coat the pasta in the garlic oil.
5. Season with salt to taste, and if desired, sprinkle with fresh parsley.
6. Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if you like.
