A simple yet flavorful Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes.
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red chili flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of boiling salted water according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
3. Add the red chili flakes and a pinch of salt to the skillet, stirring for about 30 seconds.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to coat the pasta with the garlic oil mixture. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.
5. Remove from heat and garnish with freshly chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese, if desired. Serve immediately.
