Classic Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

A simple yet flavorful Italian pasta dish made with just a few ingredients. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet. Sauté until the garlic is golden and fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
4. Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
5. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic oil. Toss to coat the pasta evenly.
6. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water until you reach the desired consistency. Season with salt to taste.
7. Serve garnished with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
