Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing until the garlic is golden and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
3. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to coat it in the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add a bit of the reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.
4. Season with salt to taste and toss in the chopped parsley.
5. Serve hot, garnished with additional parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
