Classic Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

A simple yet flavorful Italian dish made with spaghetti, garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
3. Stir in the red chili flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until you reach desired consistency.
5. Season with salt to taste and toss in chopped parsley.
6. Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
