Classic Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes, and sauté until the garlic is golden brown but not burnt, about 2-3 minutes.
3. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic oil. If the pasta looks dry, add some reserved pasta water to achieve the desired consistency.
4. Season with salt to taste and mix well.
5. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
6. Serve immediately and enjoy!
