Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 1-2 minutes until golden and fragrant, but not burnt.
4. Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
5. Drain the spaghetti, reserving a small cup of pasta water.
6. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat with the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water.
7. Season with salt to taste and toss in the chopped parsley.
8. Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
