Classic Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Classic Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe
*An easy and flavorful Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.* Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic to the skillet and sauté until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes, being careful not to burn it.
4. Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for another 30 seconds.
5. Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water and then drain the spaghetti.
6. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic oil. Toss to coat the pasta evenly, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time to create a silky sauce.
7. Season with salt to taste.
8. Remove from heat, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
