Classic Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

A simple and flavorful Italian pasta dish made with garlic and olive oil. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti - 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water and then drain the spaghetti. 2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
3. Add the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
4. Toss the drained spaghetti into the skillet with the garlic oil. Mix well to coat the pasta. If the mixture seems dry, add some reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.
5. Season with salt to taste and garnish with chopped parsley.
6. Serve hot, with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
