Classic Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

A simple and delicious Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti - 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water and then drain the spaghetti. 2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
3. Add the red pepper flakes to the skillet and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
4. Toss the drained spaghetti into the skillet with the garlic oil. Mix well, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.
5. Season with salt to taste.
6. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
