Classic Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
3. Add the red pepper flakes and sauté for an additional 30 seconds.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet along with the reserved pasta water, and toss to combine.
5. Season with salt to taste and cook for another minute, allowing the flavors to meld.
6. Remove from heat, garnish with chopped parsley, and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
7. Serve immediately and enjoy!
