Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes, being careful not to burn it.
3. Add the red pepper flakes and sauté for another 30 seconds.
4. Toss the drained spaghetti into the pan with the garlic and oil, mixing well to coat. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water to achieve desired consistency.
5. Season with salt to taste and remove from heat.
6. Serve immediately, garnished with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
