Ingredients:
- Spaghetti: 400g - Olive oil: 1/2 cup
- Garlic: 6 cloves, thinly sliced
- Red pepper flakes: 1 teaspoon
- Fresh parsley: 1/4 cup, chopped
- Salt: to taste
- Parmesan cheese: for serving (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water and drain the rest. 2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
3. Add the red pepper flakes to the skillet and sauté for an additional 30 seconds.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss it well in the garlic oil. If it seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water until you reach the desired consistency.
5. Stir in the chopped parsley and season with salt to taste.
6. Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
