Classic Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Classic Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe
A simple and delicious Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic to the skillet and sauté until it becomes golden and fragrant, about 2 minutes. Be careful not to burn it.
4. Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for another 30 seconds.
5. Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve about 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
6. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic oil and toss to combine. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water until you reach your desired consistency.
7. Season with salt to taste and garnish with fresh parsley.
8. Serve immediately, with grated Parmesan cheese on top if desired.
