Classic Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Recipe:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves of garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking until the garlic is golden but not burnt, about 2 minutes.
3. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to combine with the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add some reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.
4. Season with salt to taste and toss in the chopped parsley.
5. Serve immediately, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
