Classic Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

A simple and flavorful Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red chili flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until it turns golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
3. Add the red chili flakes to the skillet and cook for another 30 seconds, stirring continuously.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add some reserved pasta water, a little at a time, until you reach the desired consistency.
5. Season with salt to taste and toss again.
6. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
