Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta, reserving about 1/2 cup of the pasta water.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking until the garlic is golden and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
3. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, along with a splash of the reserved pasta water. Toss to combine, ensuring the pasta is well-coated with the garlic oil.
4. Season with salt to taste and toss in the chopped parsley.
5. Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
