Classic Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

A simple and delicious Italian pasta dish featuring garlic and olive oil. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti - 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water and drain the rest. 2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until the garlic is golden but not burnt.
3. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to coat in the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add some reserved pasta water until the desired consistency is reached.
4. Season with salt to taste and toss again.
5. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
