Classic Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Classic Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe
A quick and flavorful Italian pasta dish with garlic, olive oil, and red pepper flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil and sliced garlic. Cook until the garlic is golden brown, about 2-3 minutes, being careful not to burn it.
3. Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water until desired consistency is achieved.
5. Season with salt to taste and toss in the chopped parsley.
6. Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
