Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
3. Add the red pepper flakes to the skillet and sauté for an additional 30 seconds.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to coat it in the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add a bit of the reserved pasta water until it reaches your desired consistency.
5. Season with salt to taste and remove from heat.
6. Serve the spaghetti hot, garnished with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
