Classic Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic to the skillet and sauté until golden brown, about 2 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
4. Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
5. Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve a cup of pasta water, and then drain the spaghetti.
6. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic oil. Toss to coat the pasta evenly. If the mixture seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water.
7. Season with salt to taste and toss again.
8. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped parsley.
9. Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
