Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes. Cook until the garlic is golden and fragrant, about 2 minutes.
3. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to combine with the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add some reserved pasta water to loosen it.
4. Season with salt to taste and toss in the chopped parsley.
5. Serve hot, garnished with additional parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
