Classic Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe
A simple yet delicious Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- Spaghetti (200g) - Olive oil (4 tablespoons)
- Garlic (4 cloves, thinly sliced)
- Red chili flakes (1 teaspoon)
- Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)
- Salt (to taste)
- Parmesan cheese (grated, optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. 2. While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic to the skillet and sauté until it becomes golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
4. Stir in the red chili flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
5. Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
6. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic and oil. Toss to coat, adding reserved pasta water as needed to create a light sauce.
7. Season with salt to taste and garnish with chopped parsley.
8. Serve immediately, with grated Parmesan cheese on top if desired.
