This delicious and spicy chutney is the perfect addition to grilled delicacies or salads.
Preparation Time: Over 60 minutes
Serving Size: Approximately 2.5 liters
Ingredients:
- 1 kg ripe tomatoes
- 500 g onions
- 250 g apples
- 200 g sugar
- 200 ml vinegar
- 2 tbsp salt
- 2 tbsp grated ginger
- 3-4 garlic cloves
- 1-2 chili peppers (to taste)
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Instructions:
1. Rinse and chop the tomatoes, onions, and apples.
2. Place all the ingredients in a pot and mix well.
3. Heat the mixture over medium heat and bring it to a boil.
4. Reduce the heat and let the chutney simmer on low for about 1-2 hours until it thickens.
5. Stir occasionally to prevent the chutney from sticking to the bottom.
6. Once the chutney is ready, pour it into clean, hot jars and seal tightly. Allow to cool before storing.
