Ingredients:
- 1 cup chickpeas (cooked or canned)- 1/2 cup oats
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 1/2 cup fresh herbs (e.g., parsley or basil), chopped
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp chili powder (optional)
- 1 egg (or vegan alternative)
- Oil for frying
Instructions:
1. Rinse the chickpeas and place them in a bowl. Mash them with a fork or potato masher.2. Add the oats, onion, garlic, bell pepper, herbs, salt, black pepper, paprika, chili powder, and egg. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.
3. Shape the mixture into patties (about 8-10).
4. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until golden brown and crispy.
5. Serve warm with a salad or dipping sauce.
