Delicious churro sticks that provide a perfect alternative to traditional doughnuts. These sweet treats are easy to make and taste fantastic with chocolate or caramel. Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Serving Size: About 20 churros
Ingredients:
- 3 dl water
- A pinch of salt
- 3 dl all-purpose flour
- 3 room temperature eggs
- 50 g butter
- 1 tbsp sugar
- About 1 liter canola oil for frying
- About 1 dl sugar (for coating)
- 1 tbsp cinnamon (for coating)
Instructions:
1. In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, salt, and butter over low heat. Bring to a quick boil.
2. Reduce the heat and add the flour while stirring continuously. Let the mixture dry slightly and remove the pot from heat.
3. Use an electric mixer to incorporate the eggs one at a time into the dough until fully blended.
4. Heat a large pot of canola oil to 180°C (356°F) for frying. Use a thermometer and be cautious of splatters.
5. Prepare a piping bag or use a ready-made one. Squeeze thick sticks (about 10 cm long) into the hot oil.
6. Fry the churros for about 3 minutes until they are golden brown.
7. Immediately roll the finished churros in the sugar-cinnamon mixture.
