Churros with Chocolate Sauce

A delicious Spanish treat that's crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, served with a rich chocolate sauce. Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 2 dl water
- 100 g butter
- 1 dl sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 dl all-purpose flour
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
- Oil for frying
Chocolate Sauce:
- 100 g dark chocolate
- 1 dl cream
Instructions:
1. In a saucepan, bring water, butter, sugar, and salt to a boil.
2. Add the flour all at once and stir vigorously until the dough pulls away from the sides of the pan.
3. Remove the pan from heat and let the dough cool slightly.
4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth.
5. Stir in the vanilla sugar.
6. Heat oil in a deep pan or pot.
7. Pipe the dough into 10 cm long strips into the hot oil and fry until golden brown.
8. Remove churros and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
9. In a separate saucepan, melt the chocolate and cream over low heat, stirring until smooth.
10. Serve churros warm with the chocolate sauce for dipping.
