A delicious and hearty dish made with ground meat, enriched with fresh, dried, and smoked chilies. Perfect as a taco filling. Preparation Time: 3-4 hours
Serving Size: 4-6
Ingredients:
- 500 g ground meat (beef or lamb) - 1 large onion
- 3-4 garlic cloves
- 2 fresh chilies (e.g., jalapeño)
- 1-2 dried chilies
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 can (400 g) crushed tomatoes
- 1 can (400 g) beans (e.g., kidney beans)
- 2 dl beef broth
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
Instructions:
1. Peel and chop the onion and garlic. Heat oil in a large skillet and sauté the onion and garlic until soft. 2. Add the ground meat to the skillet and brown it thoroughly.
3. Chop the fresh chilies and add them to the skillet along with the dried chilies, smoked paprika, cumin, and oregano. Mix well.
4. Pour in the crushed tomatoes, beans, and beef broth. Season with salt and black pepper.
5. Allow the mixture to simmer, then transfer the skillet to an oven preheated to 150°C (300°F). Cover and let it simmer for 2-3 hours.
6. Check the flavor and serve in tacos or with your favorite sides.
