- 12 cannelloni tubes
- 400 g ground beef or chicken
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 can (400 g) crushed tomatoes
- 200 ml cream
- 100 g grated cheese (e.g., mozzarella or parmesan)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil, chopped (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the cannelloni tubes according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and rinse with cold water.
2. Heat a skillet and add a little oil. Sauté the onion and garlic until soft.
3. Add the ground meat to the skillet and cook until browned. Season with salt and pepper.
4. Stir in the crushed tomatoes and let simmer for about 5-10 minutes. Remove from heat and mix in fresh basil if using.
5. Fill the cannelloni tubes with the meat mixture using a teaspoon or a pastry bag with the tip cut off.
6. Place the filled cannelloni in a baking dish. Pour the cream over the top and sprinkle the grated cheese evenly.
