Classic Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

A simple and flavorful Italian pasta dish made with garlic and olive oil. Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Salt to taste
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
2. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
3. While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
4. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet, cooking until the garlic is golden brown but not burnt.
5. Once the pasta is done, reserve a cup of pasta water and drain the rest.
6. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic oil, tossing to combine.
7. If the pasta seems dry, add some reserved pasta water to achieve desired consistency.
8. Season with salt and garnish with chopped parsley.
9. Serve immediately, with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
