Traditional Ground Beef Sauce
recipe

A delicious and easy dish, perfect for serving with boiled potatoes or mashed potatoes. This recipe is made with Atria Family Farm ground beef.
Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Serving Size: 4-6 people

Ingredients:

- 400 g Atria Family Farm Ground Beef (15% fat)
- 1 large yellow onion
- Salt to taste
- 25 g butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- Hot water
- 1 beef bouillon cube
- 5 allspice berries
- (optional) A splash of mustard

Instructions:

1. Peel and finely chop the onion. In a cast iron skillet, brown the ground beef. Add the onion towards the end of browning to soften it.
2. Remove the browned beef from the skillet and set it aside.
3. Melt the butter in the skillet. Once melted, stir in the flour and cook until the mixture is dark, but not burnt.
4. Gradually add hot water while stirring until the mixture is smooth. Add the beef bouillon cube and the browned ground beef back to the skillet.
5. Let the sauce simmer gently for at least 3 minutes to cook the flour and thicken the sauce. Adjust salt to taste and add mustard if desired.
6. Allow the sauce to simmer longer for deeper flavor. Serve with boiled potatoes or mashed potatoes.
