Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 800 g potatoes
- 300 ml heavy cream
- 100 ml milk
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 100 g grated cheese (e.g., Emmental or cheddar)
- Fresh herbs (e.g., thyme or parsley) for garnish
Instructions:
1. Peel and slice the potatoes into thin rounds.
2. Peel and crush the garlic cloves.
3. In a bowl, mix the heavy cream, milk, crushed garlic, salt, and black pepper.
4. Lightly grease a baking dish. Layer the potato slices in the dish and pour the cream mixture over them. Sprinkle the grated cheese evenly on top.
5. Cover the dish with foil and bake at 180°C (350°F) for about 40 minutes.
6. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the top is beautifully golden brown.
7. Let it rest for a few minutes before serving and garnish with fresh herbs.
