A delicious and stunning dessert that is perfect for celebrations. This cake combines a crispy meringue base with soft whipped cream and fresh berries. Preparation time is about 1.5 hours, serving approximately 8 people.Ingredients:
- 4 egg whites
- 250 g sugar
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp white vinegar
- 300 ml heavy cream
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
- 300 g fresh berries (e.g., strawberries, raspberries, blueberries)
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 120°C (248°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Whip the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gradually add the sugar, continuing to whip until the mixture is glossy and firm.
3. Gently fold in the cornstarch and white vinegar into the meringue mixture.
4. Shape the meringue into a round disk about 25 cm in diameter on the parchment paper. Bake in the center of the oven for about 1 hour or until the surface is dry and crisp. Allow to cool.
5. Whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla sugar until soft peaks form.
6. Spread the whipped cream over the cooled meringue base.
7. Top with fresh berries before serving.
