These delicious mocha squares combine the flavors of chocolate and mint, creating the perfect blend of sweetness and freshness. Ideal for coffee tables or as a sweet snack.
Preparation Time: 40 minutes
Serving Size: About 20 squares
Ingredients:
- 200 g butter
- 4 dl sugar
- 4 dl all-purpose flour
- 1 dl cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
- 5 eggs
- 200 g After Eight chocolate
- 3 dl powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 tsp peppermint oil
- 50 g dark chocolate (for topping)
Instructions:
1. Melt the butter in a saucepan and add the sugar. Mix well.
2. Remove the saucepan from heat and add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
3. Sift the dry ingredients (flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and vanilla sugar) into the batter and mix until smooth.
4. Pour the batter into a baking tray lined with parchment paper (about 30x40 cm) and bake at 175 °C for about 20-25 minutes.
5. Allow to cool completely.
6. Melt the After Eight chocolate and mix it with powdered sugar, water, and peppermint oil. Spread this mixture over the cooled base.
7. Melt the dark chocolate and drizzle it over the mocha squares for decoration.
8. Let the topping set before cutting into squares.
