Serving Size: 6-8 servings
Ingredients:
- 200 g butter
- 3 dl all-purpose flour
- 1 dl water
- 300 g chanterelle mushrooms
- 1 onion
- 200 g grated cheese (e.g., Emmental or Cheddar)
- 3 eggs
- 2 dl cream
- 1 tsp nutmeg
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Prepare the crust: Melt the butter and mix it with the flour. Add water and knead the dough until smooth. Press the dough into a pie dish and pre-bake for 10 minutes at 200°C (392°F).
2. Prepare the filling: Sauté the chopped onion in a pan, add the chopped chanterelles, and cook until the moisture evaporates. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
3. In a bowl, mix the eggs, cream, and cheese. Add the sautéed chanterelles and onions to the mixture.
4. Pour the filling over the pre-baked crust and bake for another 30-35 minutes until the top is beautifully golden brown.
5. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
