A delicious bread baked in a cast iron pot, resulting in a crispy crust and fluffy interior. This easy recipe requires just a few ingredients. Preparation Time: 12 hours (including rising time)
Serving Size: 1 loaf
Ingredients:
- 500 g all-purpose flour - 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp dry yeast
- 4 dl water
Instructions:
1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, and dry yeast. 2. Add the water and mix until a smooth, slightly sticky dough forms.
3. Cover the bowl with a cloth and let the dough rise at room temperature for about 12 hours, until it has doubled in size.
4. Once the dough has risen, sprinkle some flour on a work surface and gently transfer the dough onto it.
5. Shape the dough into a round ball and let it rest under a cloth for about 30 minutes.
6. Place a cast iron pot in the oven and preheat the oven to 230°C (450°F).
7. When the oven is hot, carefully remove the pot and transfer the dough into it. Cover with the lid.
8. Bake the bread covered for 30 minutes, then remove the lid and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, until the bread is golden brown.
9. Remove the bread from the pot and allow it to cool on a rack before slicing.
