A simple, no-knead bread recipe with a crispy crust and soft interior. Preparation Time: 12-18 hours (including rising time)
Serving Size: 8 servings
Ingredients:
- 500 g all-purpose flour
- 400 ml water
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp dry yeast
Instructions:
1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, salt, and dry yeast.
2. Add the water and stir until you have a smooth, sticky dough.
3. Cover the bowl with a cloth and let the dough rise at room temperature for 12-18 hours, until bubbly and doubled in size.
4. Pour the dough onto a floured surface and gently shape it into a ball.
5. Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rest for about 30 minutes.
6. Preheat your oven to 230°C (450°F) and place a heavy pot (like a cast iron Dutch oven) in the center of the oven with the lid on.
7. Once the pot is hot, carefully place the dough into the pot. Cover with the lid and bake for 30 minutes.
8. Remove the lid and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, until the bread is golden brown and crusty.
9. Allow the bread to cool before slicing. Enjoy!
