Description: An easy and delicious pot bread that is effortlessly made. The long rising time of the dough adds depth and flavor.
Preparation Time: 12–24 hours (rising time), 1 hour (baking time)
Serving Size: 1 loaf
Ingredients:
- 340 ml all-purpose flour
- 300 ml bread flour
- 1-2 tsp salt
- ½ tsp dry yeast or a pea-sized piece of fresh yeast
- 350 ml warm water
- Rapeseed oil
Instructions:
1. In a bowl, combine the dry ingredients. Add warm water (about 42°C) and mix quickly. Do not knead! Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the dough rise at room temperature for 12–24 hours.
2. Turn the dough out onto a generously floured surface. Do not knead it, but shape it into a ball. Cover with a cloth and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
3. Take a lidded oven pot (2–3 liters), grease it with oil, and place it in a cold oven. Preheat the oven to 225°C.
4. Once the dough has risen for 30 minutes on the counter, carefully take the hot pot out of the oven and place the dough into the scorching hot pot. Put the lid on and return the pot to the oven for 30 minutes. After that, remove the lid and continue baking for an additional 15 minutes.
5. Remove the pot from the oven and turn the bread out. It should come out of the pot easily.
