A simple and delicious crusty bread, perfect for any meal.
Preparation Time: 12-18 hours + 3 hours resting
Serving Size: 8 servings
Ingredients:
- 500 g flour (e.g., all-purpose flour)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp dry yeast
- 400 ml water
Instructions:
1. In a large bowl, mix the flour, salt, and dry yeast.
2. Add the water and stir well until the dough is moist and combined.
3. Cover the bowl with a cloth and let the dough rest at room temperature for 12-18 hours.
4. Once the dough has risen, sprinkle some flour on a work surface and gently pour the dough onto it.
5. Shape the dough into a round ball and cover it with a cloth. Let it rest for another 1-2 hours.
6. Preheat the oven to 230°C (450°F) and place a Dutch oven with its lid inside.
7. Once the pot is hot, carefully place the dough inside. Cover with the lid and bake for 30 minutes.
8. Remove the lid and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the bread is golden brown.
9. Allow the bread to cool before slicing and enjoy!
