Ingredients
- 400 g fresh herring - 1 dl Greek yogurt
- 1 cucumber
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tbsp fresh dill
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Rye bread for serving
Instructions
1. Clean the herring and remove the innards. Rinse thoroughly in cold water. 2. Grate the cucumber coarsely and squeeze out any excess moisture.
3. Finely chop the garlic cloves.
4. In a bowl, mix together the yogurt, cucumber, garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, and dill. Season with salt and pepper.
5. Place the herring on a plate and spoon the tzatziki over them. Allow to marinate in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes before serving.
6. Serve with rye bread.
