A delicious pickled herring dish perfect for tapas. Preparation Time: 8 hours (plus 15 minutes soaking)
Serving Size: 4-6
Ingredients:
- Olive oil
- Salt
- Water
- Parsley
- Garlic
- ½ kg herring fillets or 1 kg whole herring
- ½ liter vinegar
Instructions:
1. If using whole herring, clean them and remove the bones.
2. Soak the herring in ice water for 15 minutes and then drain well.
3. Place the herring in a mixture of ½ liter vinegar and the same amount of water.
4. Let the herring marinate in the refrigerator for 8 hours or overnight.
5. Serve the herring with olive oil, salt, chopped parsley, and minced garlic.
