Serving Size: 4 sandwiches
Ingredients:
- 4 slices of bread (e.g., white or whole grain)
- 4 slices of ham
- 4 slices of cheese (e.g., cheddar or emmental)
- 2 tablespoons of softened butter
- 1 tablespoon of mustard (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Spread softened butter on one side of each bread slice.
2. Flip the bread slices and spread mustard (if using) on the other side.
3. Place ham and cheese on two of the bread slices and season with salt and pepper.
4. Top with the remaining bread slices, butter side out.
5. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the sandwiches for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until golden brown and the cheese has melted.
6. Remove the sandwiches from the skillet and cut them in half. Serve immediately.
