Description: A creamy and spicy twist on the classic mac and cheese, featuring nduja and topped with melted cheese. Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 250 g macaroni
- 200 g nduja
- 200 g cheese sauce (e.g., cheddar or mozzarella)
- 1 dl cream
- 1 dl milk
- 1 tsp mustard powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 50 g grated cheese (for topping)
- Fresh herbs (e.g., parsley or basil) for garnish
Instructions:
1. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
2. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
3. In a pan, heat the nduja over low heat until it melts and becomes paste-like.
4. Add the cream, milk, and mustard powder to the pan. Mix well.
5. Stir in the cheese sauce and mix until fully melted and the sauce is smooth.
6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
7. Combine the cooked macaroni and nduja sauce in a bowl, mixing thoroughly.
8. Pour the mixture into a baking dish and sprinkle the grated cheese on top.
9. Bake in the oven for about 20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbling.
10. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly. Garnish with fresh herbs before serving.
