Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 4 large bell peppers (red or yellow)
- 300 g ground beef (or chicken)
- 1 cup rice
- 1 onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 cup shredded cheese (e.g., mozzarella or cheddar)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Fresh herbs for garnish (e.g., parsley)
Instructions:
1. Cook the rice according to package instructions and set aside.
2. Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic. Heat olive oil in a frying pan and add the onions. Sauté until soft.
3. Add the ground meat to the onions and cook until browned. Season with salt, pepper, and oregano.
4. Stir in the cooked rice and tomato sauce into the meat mixture. Let it simmer for a few minutes.
5. Cut the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds. Fill the peppers with the rice and meat mixture.
6. Place the stuffed peppers in a baking dish and sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
7. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 25-30 minutes, until the cheese is melted and golden.
8. Garnish with fresh herbs before serving.
