Delicious and nutritious energy bars, perfect for a snack on hot days. Sweet, toffee-like, and made with just a few simple ingredients. Preparation Time: 30 minutes + chilling time
Serving Size: About 15 bars
Ingredients:
- 15 dates - 3 tablespoons date syrup
- ½ cup raw cacao powder
- A pinch of salt
- A touch of pure vanilla
- 3 tablespoons carob powder
- A generous amount of toasted millet or quinoa (or both)
Instructions:
1. Soak the dates in warm water if they have hardened. 2. Drain the water and save it for drinking. Blend the dates and date syrup into a paste.
3. Add raw cacao, carob powder, salt, and vanilla to the date paste. Mix well.
4. Stir in the toasted quinoa and millet until evenly combined.
5. Pour the mixture into a mold and place it in the freezer to set.
6. Once the bars are firm, transfer them to a dehydrator for a few hours.
7. Finally, store the bars in the refrigerator before serving.
