Ingredients:
- 2 cups sugar
- 200 g dates
- 4 eggs
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 200 g butter
- 2 cups water
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons vanilla sugar
Instructions:
1. In a saucepan, boil the dates, water, and butter until the mixture is mushy. Allow to cool.
2. In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs and sugar together until the mixture is light and fluffy.
3. Add the cooled date mixture to the egg and sugar mixture.
4. In a separate bowl, combine the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and vanilla sugar).
5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the date mixture until smooth.
6. Pour the batter into a greased cake pan.
7. Bake at 175°C (350°F) for about 40-50 minutes or until the cake is cooked through (test with a toothpick).
