A delicious turkey that crowns your holiday table, combining the richness of nuts with the flavor of chicken mince. Preparation Time: 3 hours
Serving Size: 8-10
Ingredients:
- 1 large turkey (about 4-5 kg) - 300 g chicken mince
- 150 g nuts (e.g., hazelnuts or walnuts), chopped
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 2 dl breadcrumbs
- 1 dl chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 100 g butter, melted
- 1 dl white wine (optional)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the turkey: Remove the innards and rinse the turkey under cold water. Pat it dry with paper towels. 2. Make the filling: Sauté onion and garlic in butter in a pan until soft. Add chicken mince and cook until browned.
3. In a bowl, combine chicken mince, sautéed onion, chopped nuts, breadcrumbs, chicken broth, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
4. Stuff the turkey with the filling and seal the opening with toothpicks or kitchen twine.
5. Brush the turkey with melted butter and season with salt and pepper. Place it in a roasting pan.
6. Roast the turkey at 175 °C for about 2.5-3 hours or until the internal temperature reaches 75 °C. Pour white wine into the pan during roasting for extra flavor, if desired.
7. Let the turkey rest for 20-30 minutes before carving. Serve with your favorite side dishes.
