A delicious chocolate mousse, perfect for dessert at your holiday table, served with a delightful cherry chutney. Preparation Time: 1 hour + chilling time

Ingredients
For the Chocolate Mousse: - 1 ½ dl milk
- 3 star anise
- 175 g milk chocolate (partially dark)
- 1 gelatin leaf
- 1 3/4 dl heavy cream
For the Cherry Chutney:
- 175 g sour cherries
- 175 g preserving sugar
- 0.9 dl red wine
- 0.2 dl red wine vinegar
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp ginger
Instructions
1. Prepare the Chocolate Mousse: - Measure the milk into a saucepan and add the star anise. Gently bring to a boil for about 5 minutes, being careful not to let it burn.
- Soak the gelatin leaf in cold water.
- Chop the chocolate into small pieces and place it in a bowl. Squeeze the excess water from the gelatin and mix it into the warm milk.
- Strain the milk over the chocolate and stir until smooth. Allow to cool to room temperature.
- Whip the cream and gently fold it into the chocolate mixture.
- Transfer the mousse to the refrigerator to set for about 30 minutes.
2. Prepare the Cherry Chutney:
- Combine all chutney ingredients in a saucepan. Simmer gently for about an hour.
- Pour the chutney into a glass jar and let it cool. Move to the refrigerator once it reaches room temperature.
- It's best to prepare the chutney at least one day in advance.
3. Serving:
- Spoon the mousse into a piping bag and pipe into serving cups. Allow it to set in the refrigerator for at least one to two more hours.
- Serve the chocolate mousse with the cherry chutney.
